Intricacies of our World

It happened again. On my way into work, I was listening to an evangelical station where everything was negative about God….how are we ever supposed to live correctly when the wonderfulness of God isn’t amplified?

I turned that station off!

In my mind, I began to think of all of the intricacies of our world – our design, our society, our nature, our forests, our oceans, our universe. How glorious!!! I reveled in just what my eyes could take in – the wonder of a construction crew that possesses the know-how to build a road, the engineers that designed my car to get me and my family safely to our destinations, the opportunities given to my son as I dropped him off at his first day of work at a ranch, the doors that open when you had no idea that’s what you really needed, the river – oh, the beautiful, grand river that flows majestically so shallow but wide, the birds greeting the new day in the river’s sand bars.

What a majestic world our God, our Lord, our Savior has created for us! If you ever lose your sense of wonder, I encourage you to look down at your hands. Honor them, appreciate them, hold them close to your heart. Remember all of the places they’ve been and how useful they’ve been to you in your life. Remember your hands by what you have touched, by what you have created, by what you have lovingly let go of.

This is an incredible world.

Smile, touch, look around you. See the birds outside your window. Witness the trees growing before your eyes. Admire the spider’s handiwork as it constructs its web for survival.

We are here. Might as well love.
