Friendship.
We are sent people in this lifetime. They interest us. We support them. We participate in their success. We like to learn about them – their story…what they’ve been through, what their current battles are. We grow to like them. Over time, they earn our trust. Once trust is earned, we are at ease with a friend who once was a stranger.
It takes commitment and time to show up for another person. You make that commitment. You construct. You invest. You make memories. And that is life. God continues to show up for us as our friend. He is always there for me to run to. I give myself to Him and let him know to use me. He sends me people that need me. Probably. No, they do need me. My son needed me. My niece needed me. I have such a long list of people that God knew needed me…and I needed them – to learn how to give love and how to be loved. Friends. Friendship. Going through this life supported. It’s ok to be tough and independent. I’ve lived that life for sure…but to tip my toe into surrendering was where I found true comfort. We don’t have to go through this life alone, thankfully. There are sources of greatness within many people. If they aren’t aware of it, perhaps it is our job to allow space for them to discover it…because we see it within them.
God sees it in us…our greatness…because He put it there. He is such a great friend…allowing us time to discover our gifts and continuing to give us people in the form of friendships.
