Hope Dealing

Paul. What a man. Why isn’t more reverence given to Paul? He is an example of us all. He started out persecuting people…then, by God’s grace, was given new eyes to see. What he saw was incredible. His writings reveal the true way to have a life well-lived. He wrote so passionately of love and hope. Hope. What a powerful word. Please close your eyes and feel the word, “hope.” Let it sink into your entire being. Have you ever been without hope? If you have, then you can certainly know that that is the place where you cry out for God’s mercy. God provides one with hope. Hope can get us even through the most dreadful times. If we have just one ounce, just one shred of hope…then we know we will be ok.

Surviving.

We are all survivors at our core being. When all hope is lost, however, we have no will to survive. Humbled, we fall to our knees because we can not do this life alone. We reach out to God. By His power, he hears our call. He feeds us. What is it this food? It is hope. Hope that things are going to get a little better. Hope that things are going to be ok. Little by little, time passes beyond your days of desperation, and you know God was right. Paul was blinded and provided new eyes. The new eyes showed him a world of love and compassion…life lived in the spirit…hoping for something better.

And God promises there is indeed something better that awaits us…but until then, enjoy the beautiful sunrise He made just for your eyes. Enjoy the colors the spring and the summer rains provide. Enjoy the laughter of the child. Let a smile come upon your face and acknowledge the lightness in your heart that God made this world for YOU to enjoy. He thanks YOU for appreciating his handiwork.
